
Patient Care Technician - General, Urology & Colorectal Surgery - Night Shift

Description:
7:00pm - 7:30am. The schedule includes working every other weekend & holiday. INITIAL TRAINING IS DURING THE DAY. PATIENT CARE HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE IS STRONGLY PREFERRED.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Performs tasks that do not require nursing judgments or administration of medications.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Bedside patient care
Vitals
Positioning
Feeding
Phlebotomy
EKG
Is accountable for the patient care they deliver. Adheres to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Medical background, mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity preferred.
Basic computer skills required.
Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Current BLS/CPR certification and First Aid training provided upon hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Office/clinical setting. Exposure class I.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Heavy work: requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying.
PAY RANGE:
Pay Range: $17.25 - $25.00. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
