**Monitor Technician**
**A Brief Overview**
The Monitor Technician/Clinical Secretary continually monitors cardiac rhythms on a specific unit, identifies andinterprets changes in rhythms and acts appropriately. Performs clerical duties on a nursing unit, answers the telephone, relays messages, and acts as a receptionist receiving and directing visitors and ambulatory patients.
**What you will do*** Telephone and patient call bells are answered in a prompt & appropriate manner, redirects calls and patient requests promptly to appropriate staff,* Utilizes Service Response Center in a timely manner,* Obtains/stocks/organizes office supplies,* Maintains label book and logbook with updates daily with no more than (1) occurrences of noncompliance* Verifies with nurse on admission and every shift patient on telemetry
**Education Qualifications*** High School Diploma with the successful completion of Medical Terminology and Monitor Tech course with a passing score on the examination Preferred
**Experience Qualifications*** MT/Clerical experience Preferred
**Skills and Abilities*** Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.
