Kati Curtis Design is seeking a highly skilled
Interior Architect
to join our team and take a lead technical role. This person must be exceptionally strong in
Revit , with deep experience in
custom millwork ,
bespoke furniture design , and the production of highly detailed, beautifully organized
construction document sets
for luxury residential interiors.
We are looking for someone who is both
design-sensitive and technically rigorous - a professional adept at working with UHMW clients who can translate creative vision into precise, buildable drawings and deliverables at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of interior architectural documentation for the from schematic design through construction documentation
Produce, manage, and maintain highly detailed
Revit models and drawing sets
Develop detailed drawing packages for:
Custom millwork
Built-ins and architectural detailing
Custom furniture
Interior elevations, sections, and details
Prepare and coordinate complete
CD sets
with a high level of accuracy and clarity
Collaborate closely with the principal, design team, consultants, fabricators, and contractors
Resolve technical design challenges while maintaining the integrity of the design intent
Review site conditions, field dimensions, shop drawings, and RFIs as needed
Ensure all documentation is aligned with project scope, code requirements, and construction realities
Support material integration and detailing across architecture, interiors, and furnishings
Help establish and maintain drawing standards, organization, and best practices within Revit
Qualifications
Degree in
Interior Architecture ,
Architecture , or related field
5+ years
of experience in high-end residential interior architecture or interior design documentation
Advanced to expert proficiency in
Revit
Strong experience detailing
luxury residential millwork and custom furniture
Proven ability to produce thorough, elegant, and contractor-friendly
construction document sets
Strong understanding of fabrication methods, construction sequencing, and detailing standards
Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and communicate clearly with team members and vendors
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Highly proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to work independently
Ideal Candidate
Has excellent design judgment in addition to technical expertise
Understands the level of detail and refinement required for bespoke residential work
Can move fluidly between big-picture thinking and highly granular drawing execution
Is meticulous, efficient, and deeply accountable
Brings calm, competence, and ownership to complex projects
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with New York City project coordination, building submittals, DOB, LPC and consultant collaboration
Experience producing furniture drawings for fabrication
Ability to review and mark up shop drawings with confidence and precision
