OmniOn Power is seeking an entry‑level, electronic technician to perform product safety thermal testing of electronic power supplies and dc/dc converters during New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change (EC) processes. The Technician’s role consists of executing a comprehensive list of electrical and thermal tests and documenting the results.
This role is based at our headquarters in Plano, TX, and reports to the R&D Technical Manager.
Essential Responsibilities
Interpret technical specifications, electrical schematics, and block diagrams
Select appropriate test equipment and fixtures to perform required tests per mechanical and safety engineering test plans
Attach thermocouples to critical components within the unit under test (UUT) prior to thermal testing. Re‑assemble UUT as necessary prior to test setup
Connect the UUT to input / output cabling and fixturing prior to testing
Setup UUT in thermal chambers with various cooling mechanisms (fan, conduction, liquid)
Utilize automatic test equipment (ATE) to perform thermal and electrical tests
Document all test results in accordance with strict safety agency data acceptance program formats (UL, CSA, VDE, and TUV)
Assist engineering teams to interpret and duplicate non‑compliances
Maintain lab equipment and calibration standards per ISO‑17025 requirements
Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) requirements such as LOTO
Coordinate engineering requests and assure timely and accurate completion of all action items

Qualifications / Requirements
Associate’s degree (2 year) in Electronics
Minimum of 1 year of experience with oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, and data logging instruments
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of electrical measurement techniques
Ability to interpret technical requirements as they apply to power conversion devices to determine whether documented requirements and standards are met
Working knowledge of AC and DC sources, electronics loads and thermal chambers
Experience with Microsoft MACROs, Visual Basic and other lab automation software
Ability to efficiently manage time and coordinate priorities with multiple engineers
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL and WORD
Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for OmniOn Power in United States
