Fleet Mechanic

Job Description
We are seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain, repair, and ensure compliance of our fleet vehicles with Vestis, DOT, and OSHA standards.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all fleet vehicles in a timely and cost‑efficient manner.
Use the AVMS fleet management system to track shop operations and assist with cost control through purchasing and inventory management.
Train and supervise other shop personnel in safety procedures to maintain quality, cleanliness, and OSHA compliance.
Insist on regular vehicle inspections to meet Vestis and DOT standards, including medium‑gas and diesel engines, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension, and lift gates.
Replace general automotive parts—brakes, tires, hoses, belts, and others—documenting repairs and inspections per company guidelines.
Conduct all repairs safely and efficiently, providing assistance with larger repairs as needed.
Adhere to all company workplace conduct policies and perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
Two years or more of experience in all phases of fleet vehicle mechanical repairs, including general maintenance, wiring, engine overhaul, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent on‑the‑job training preferred but not required.
Valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle maintenance, and applicable state vehicle laws; military vehicle maintenance experience is a plus.
Proficient in preventive maintenance programs and parts procurement/inventory control systems.
Strong multitasking ability and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
Team‑oriented mindset with schedule flexibility—including day, evening, and weekend shifts.
Compensation
Hourly rate ranges from $37.35 to $37.35, determined by skills, qualifications, certifications, and market data.
