SUMMARY OF POSITION
First-line supervisor responsible for a team of hourly production employees within the Recips/Power Supplies departments on a single shift. Responsible for overall day-to-day management of the Recips/Power Supplies Operations departments. Drives production results by coordinating manpower requirements, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, maintaining quality within established specifications, purchasing of raw material, arranging for repair of equipment, maintaining discipline, providing for on-the-job training and administering other personnel functions.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/COMPETENCIES
Accomplishes manufacturing results for Recips/Power Supplies Operations department by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and directing work of department personnel; appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Manages production plan including scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; and reporting results via daily board meetings and monthly BUM meetings.
Partners with the Planning and Materials groups to ensure completion of production schedule and resolve any issues that may arise.
Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
Reports any process and equipment problems to the Operations Manager.
Trains, upgrades, evaluates, and reviews operators and sends recommendations to the Operations Manager.
Responsible for all processes, equipment, associate’s safety, and housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity standards on multiple shifts.
Works with Manufacturing Engineering team to troubleshoot problems and help identify productivity opportunities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Three to five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Associate Degree in Business or Related field, or equivalent work experience.
Good written and excellent verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership skills.
