Position Overview
The Analyst – Capital Markets role is a high-responsibility, lead analyst position that will be developed to perform at a best-in-class level within rPlus’ project finance and capital markets group.Primary responsibilities include supporting third-party, project-level debt and tax equity transactions, evaluating strategic M&A opportunities, and managing related project financing matters. This role will work closely with cross-functional rPlus teams, third-party stakeholders, financial counterparties, and external investors on debt and tax equity financings for renewable energy projects.The ideal candidate is highly organized, a thoughtful problem-solver, team-oriented, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. A successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong interest in clean energy and a desire to develop expertise in project finance and capital markets.
General Responsibilities
Partner closely with rPlus project finance leaders to execute third-party debt and tax equity transactions supporting renewable energy projects (typically ranging from $200M to $1B)
Collaborate with the capital markets team to build and evaluate Excel-based financial models for project financing and M&A opportunities
Support the lead transactor in managing complex financing processes involving cross-functional internal teams, external counsel, real estate specialists, and third-party consultants
Support and manage lender and investor due diligence processes
Perform strategic financial analysis to inform project development decisions, M&A activity, offtake strategy, and corporate financing initiatives
Develop and support key project finance deliverables, including internal updates and presentations for third-party financiers and the board (via email, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Participate in project meetings related to project finance and capital markets activity
Partner with development and accounting teams to support construction and operating budget development
Collaborate cross-functionally with project finance, corporate finance, accounting, asset management, development, construction, legal, and executive leadership teams
Support additional initiatives as needed
Skill Requirements
Strong drive to perform at a best-in-class level, both individually and as part of the rPlus team
Bachelor’s degree required (finance, economics, business, or energy-related field preferred)
Master’s degree or CFA designation is a plus
Minimum of 2 years of experience in renewable energy project finance, tax equity, investment banking, M&A, or project development
Strong interest in renewable energy and project finance structures
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required) and the Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated experience building, analyzing, and navigating Excel-based financial models
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and interest in wholesale electricity markets and renewable energy development
Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to supporting broader team success
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
