Job Description - Tax Examiner Associate (26000344)
Creating a seamless and user‑centric experience for all Ohio taxpayers, the Ohio Department of Taxation administers individual and business taxes across the state. What You’ll do as a Tax Examiner Associate
Serve as the “front line” for customer service by taking phone calls, answering emails and live chats, and conducting face‑to‑face interactions at our Welcome Center.
Educate taxpayers by responding to written and verbal questions, attending outreach events, and helping to create instructional materials.
Learn all aspects of the taxes administered by Taxation (such as individual income tax, business tax, or employer withholding).
Qualifications
Undergraduate core program in a business‑related field or public administration that included two courses in accounting.
At least three months of customer service experience, or equivalent educational credentials.
Technical skills: accounting and finance.
Professional skills: active learning, teamwork, problem solving, and customer focus.
