Responsibilities
The UGE Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing underground utility construction operations, assigning work to Foremen, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within quality standards. This role supports production, compliance, and customer billing while working closely with field crews, Project Managers, and leadership.

In addition, you will:

Supervise UGE field crews to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production

Oversee underground construction activities, including trenching, conduit placement, duct banks, and restoration

Train, coach, and evaluate Foremen's performance

Develop and manage pre-job plans and production schedules

Track and approve daily field reporting (time, progress, equipment, incidents, etc.)

Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company procedures

Coordinate materials, equipment, and supply needs for active projects

Support project documentation and customer invoicing requirements

Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement in the field

Communicate job updates, risks, and needs to Project Managers and leadership

Qualifications
About You:

5+ years of underground utility (UGE) construction experience required

2+ years in a supervisory role (Foreman, Supervisor, Superintendent, or similar)

Strong knowledge of underground telecom or utility construction (trenching, conduit, duct banks, boring support, etc.)

Experience managing crews, production goals, and multiple active job sites

Ability to read and interpret prints, utility maps, and construction plans

Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and excavation safety practices

Experience with job costing, reporting, and field documentation

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Valid driver’s license required, with a clean record for the past 3 years (CDL preferred, depending on market)

Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time within MN and WS areas, and work in field-based environments as needed

Willingness to work overtime as needed

Compensation of $34-$40 per hour, depending on the experience.
