Father Child Engagement Specialist (Fatherhood)
Location: On-Site – Antioch, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Department: Family & Community Services – Fatherhood Program
Reports to: Program Supervisor/ Director
Pay Range: $28.00 – $30.00/hour
Position Summary
The Father Child Engagement Specialist supports the Fatherhood Program through direct outreach to African American/Black fathers, engagement in parenting classes, and facilitation of events that strengthen father–child relationships. This role combines education, community-building, and case management to empower fathers and connect them to resources that support family well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Engagement
Develop and implement campaigns to recruit African American/Black fathers into the Fatherhood Program.
Create welcoming spaces and opportunities for fathers to learn about early parenting.
Program Facilitation & Events
Facilitate a 12-week parenting class series.
Plan and host father–child engagement events, workshops, support groups, and activities.
Collaborate with Antioch First 5 Center staff to deliver joint programming and support client transitions.
Case Management & Support
Provide case management services, including resource referral and linkage to community supports.
Encourage fathers to strengthen social networks and become part of a strong parent community.
Administration & Compliance
Maintain records, collect data, and monitor attendance, participation, and outcomes.
Complete all program and administrative documentation per agency and funder guidelines.
Ensure compliance with program, funder, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or actively working toward AA with at least 12 ECE units completed.
Minimum 2 years of experience in family support or early childhood services.
Experience working with African American/Black fathers in home-based or center-based services preferred.
Must meet all state-required conditions of employment, including:
Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance
TB/Health physical
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance
Work Environment & Schedule
On-site role in Antioch, CA.
Full-time, non-exempt position.
