Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.***Responsibilities:**Trains and receives regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist while performing nuclear medicine studies in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer documentation while providing high quality images for radiologist interpretation.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*** Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.* Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.* Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained.* Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.* Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.* Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care.* Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.* Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the clinical nuclear medicine rooms.* Other duties as assigned.**MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE*** 1 year of relevant experience preferred* Or equivalent combination of education and experience**LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS*** CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) upon hire required or* CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) upon hire required and* NMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Tech by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) upon hire required* Maintenance of current NYS licensure required* BCLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification upon hire requiredThe University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving an inclusive and welcoming culture to advance the University’s Mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create – and Make the World Ever Better.
