Job Description

L3Harris is seeking an Associate, Field Engineer to join our team and assist in the installation and maintenance of complex communications systems at FAA facilities. The engineer will perform a variety of duties in the electronic, and/or electromechanical areas. They will assist in the removal, construction, test and check‑out of the fielded system. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with communications equipment, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work from and understand schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
Essential Functions

Remove, install, configure, and test communications equipment and supporting infrastructure, at various FAA facilities.
Perform system troubleshooting and repair activities to ensure optimal operation of operational system.
Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret and implement installation drawings and specifications.
Support site surveys to assess installation requirements and plan logistics.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety guidelines, protocols, and regulatory standards.
Document all installation, repair, and maintenance activities accurately and thoroughly.
Travel extensively to various FAA facilities as required by project assignments.
Obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust clearance
Qualifications

To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
Proficiency with a variety of tools and equipment involved in communications systems installation.
Demonstrate excellent problem‑solving skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness to travel and work at various FAA sites for 3-to-9-month durations as required (Expect 90-100% Travel)
Utilize a robust engineering process to resolve technical issues to closure
Obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust clearance
