Overview
Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services, critical and emergency care, and pediatric emergency care. Perioperative Services provides care and support for surgical, gastroenterology, cardiac cath lab, and pain center patients, covering adult and pediatric patients from admission through discharge.
Role Purpose
Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Responsibilities
Prepares the operating room for surgical patients, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains necessary supplies and equipment, ensures room cleanliness, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
Performs surgical scrub duties and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
Assists in turning over the room and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to their proper locations.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Less than 2 years or military‑equivalent experience.
Preferred Requirements
Accredited Surgical Program education.
Surgical Technician license or certification.
Shift Schedule
Monday to Friday.
0645 start – 8 or 10 hour shift.
On‑call required.
