
Scribe - Ophthalmology Clinic - PRN

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Ophthalmic Scribe is to support the physician in the clinical setting by enhancing efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will anticipate physician needs, communicate effectively with both patients and staff, and multitask seamlessly to ensure smooth clinic operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately and thoroughly document ophthalmic exams and procedures as performed by the physician
Record appropriate diagnoses, symptoms, prescriptions, and follow‑up instructions as directed by the physician
Provide patients and/or family members with self‑care and follow‑up instructions as communicated by the physician
Coordinate patient scheduling and maintain clinic flow, clearly communicating any delays
Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager, facility administrator, or physician(s)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience as an ophthalmic scribe or technician preferred
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines)
Physical Activity:
Standing for extended periods, talking, and hearing
Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary work, involving sitting most of the time
Visual Requirements:
Close visual acuity required to perform tasks accurately
