We are currently looking for a Director, Regulatory Accounting for our Houston, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for leading the regulatory accounting efforts for Boardwalk, ensuring accurate financial reporting, promoting training and advising the business on regulatory accounting matters.
DUTIES
Responsible for the application of regulatory accounting and reporting
Be an advisor to the Company on regulatory accounting matters
Train and develop the regulatory acumen of the accounting team
Monitor and assess emerging accounting developments and their potential impacts to Boardwalk, following the activities of the FERC and FERC audits
Develop or maintain policy and drive standardization in the application of regulatory accounting standards across Boardwalk’s regulated entities
Provide audit coordination with both external and internal audit
Review newly developed services, commercial and corporate transactions and contracts for accounting issues
Collaborate with other Boardwalk departments to support strategic initiatives and mergers and acquisitions
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
10+ years experience in accounting
Emphasis on regulatory reporting and natural gas pipeline experience
Strong analytical and communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with rate cases and cost of service modelsExperience with large ERP systems and reporting tools
Reports to VP-Controller/CAO
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
