
Product Developer (Apparel)

YOUR ROLE
The Product Developer (PD) at Stio® executes all aspects of product development, primarily apparel and accessories. Driving to seasonal timeline and Stio quality standards. Product Developer owns fit excellence, fit consistency, pattern study, construction quality, BOM ownership, and understands costing for each of their products. In partnership and support from Design, Materials & Product Line Management, and Production/Sourcing, the PD will deliver on time production approval for each garment according to design brief, fit intent, and Stio quality standards. Product Developer is responsible for direct communication with the factories ensuring efficient accurate product development, and effective problem solving from launch to production approval.
Candidates must be located in the Rocky Mountain West or West Coast regions of the United States. Eligible states include Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate and meet expectations for effective, clear and timely communication through product development team, and with factory partners
Collaborate with Sr Developers, Product Development Director, and POD (product) team to ensure successful launch of assigned product range.
Support materials team to ensure the assigned materials and trims meet function garment needs, as well as wear and wash requirements.
Actively manage factory relationships including timelines and workflow. Understanding the PO dates and Factory WIPs to prioritize the work accordingly for on time proto and production expectations with target to ship by sea.
Support the product development process for inline products considerate of materials and construction that meet design expectations, understanding the gross margin targets
Track the development schedule of all assigned product to ensure timely completion of development according to the product calendar and GTM calendar.
Execute technical development of the assigned range to ensure top quality construction suited for the materials and end use of the product
Execute fit intent (silhouette) considerate of fit statement, design, end use, intent of the product through clear analysis, documentation, communication and adherence to fit and brand identity standards.
Utilize Fit blocks (create as needed), Pattern library, and 3D to deliver consistent and meticulously crafted fit across categories and end uses
Create, maintain and publish all digital and physical records associated with styles including but not limited to: spec measurements (MMC), Bill of Materials, technical sketches, comments and revisions, fit and construction reference samples
Troubleshoot construction challenges through partnership with technical design and production teams, detail sketches and thorough review of all products
Support hand off of production ready product to production team by delivering completed specification for each product in form of complete Centric Techpack
Support Sales Asset / Sales Samples process and tracking for Sales to meet their sales goals
Maintain Centric as the primary platform for all product creation processes and tracking such as: tech sketches, creating & maintaining BOMs, MMC/size charts including grade rules, updating color BOMs, publish revisions and comments.
Seek input from PD team members to verify expectations as well as gain consensus throughout development cycle
Maintain PIM (Product Information Management) as part of the GTM cycle identifying features and benefits for each style owned.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or higher required
4+ years Apparel product development / Technical Design with a successful record of bringing product to market
Professional application of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and PLM experience
Basic working knowledge of 3D software and patterning required
Strong attention to detail, especially as it relates to sewing techniques, fit evaluation with body in motion, material drape and application
Exceptional communication skills within Stio and with external vendors
Ability to translate and apply many types of feedback to products
Project management skills managing each product from concept to production

We provide competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives and benefits. The base salary range for this role is $80,000-$95,000. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of the range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience, skills, and qualifications.
