About the Position
Defect Manager - JL JT MCA, reporting to the System Engineering Manager.

Location: Southfield, Michigan.

Responsibilities

Deploy the defect management process into the project, including management of customer defects in the Marelli toolchain.

Define the defect curve (stratified by severity, area/domain, etc.) with expected target curves according to project parameters and customer milestones.

Track defects to closure. Lead the CCB to agree with other technical leaders on ownership, timing, and priorities for defect resolution.

Ensure common understanding of defects between Product Validation, Software, and Hardware teams.

Serve as reference entry point for defect management synchronizations between Marelli tool and customer or supplier tools.

Provide regular status reports illustrating defect status and related metrics (escaped defects, average resolution, priority/severity, regression and duplication percentage, etc.).

Support WAR Room meetings.

Serve as reference entry point towards customer for defect parts.

Review and discuss defect status with the customer on a periodic basis with project support (Technical Project Manager, Product Validation Leader, SW PL, and Quality).

Coordinate with TPM and SW PL to ensure defect validation supports product issue resolution until closure.

Support Product Validation Engineer and Project Manager for defect parts based on Marelli tool (Jira Kanban, Jira Dashboard).

Support the CCB (Change Control Board) meeting for the defect part.

Qualifications

Electronic Engineering or Information Science degree.

English (recommended); written and spoken independent use (B2 level). Customer interface language knowledge: written and spoken independent use (B2 level minimum).

At least 5 years of experience in system test activities, preferably in automotive or other large-scale markets.

Ability to work in multinational distributed teams.

High analytical and synthesis capacity for technical issues.

Test management and defect‑management tool knowledge.

Reporting experience.
