Leidos is seeking a
NOC Shift Lead
to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team at
Ft. Meade, MD . The DES program is a highly demanding mission that requires expert technical and professional management to support DISA's enterprise Information Technology (IT) services. The role involves discovery, analysis, design, and network migration activities necessary to move a host of DoD agencies into the modernized DoCNet environment.
This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance to start.
Primary Responsibilities
Operate as a team lead, guiding 5+ personnel on a 24 x 7 x 365 operational support team focused on identifying, replying, and resolving alerts and incidents.
Lead day‑to‑day operational services provided to the DES program and its customers.
Monitor and coordinate activities involved with daily support of services to all DES computing assets, including Network Control Center, Problem Management, Video and VOIP, VIP support, and Joint Operations Center.
Coordinate the integration of network system management tools.
Oversee Network Management Systems monitoring and reporting.
Interface between the customer and DISA management and provide technical input into management activities.
Perform network monitoring technical support and analysis for network systems and components, LAN/WAN communications, and transmission systems, including Wireless LAN infrastructure.
Perform critical or emergency system administration tasks affecting the production environment.
Ensure personnel receive adequate guidance and direction for performing their daily tasks; accountable for developing and presenting briefings, preparing correspondence, and preparing project status reports as required.
Communicate clearly and succinctly, both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a professional business‑like manner.
Maintain the availability of environments for projects and follow application deployment and configuration plans.
Implement reporting and dashboards based on monitored network services.
Utilize reporting tools to generate ad‑hoc and daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Onboard and offboard network and other assets to maintain a current and up‑to‑date monitoring infrastructure.
Create twice‑daily status reports and outage reports.
Document significant events within the Master Station Log (MSL).
Create incident tickets and elevate them to the appropriate teams within the approved timeframe for network outages.
Track the status of network outages and VIP tickets, including higher‑level outages.
Provide on‑site support and occasionally work on weekends, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Must hold an active Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
Experience with Active Directory.
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience using SharePoint.
Experience with SolarWinds.
Experience with technical writing and reporting.
Experience creating and running ServiceNow ITSM reports.
Must have an active DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE) prior to start.
Desired Qualifications
ITIL V3 or V4 certification.
Experience using vSphere.
Experience briefing senior leaders.
Possess an in‑depth knowledge of DoD Enterprise IT policies and procedures.
