Classes will take place on campus in Pittsburg/Brentwood, California and/or online, requiring additional district‑approved online training. This hiring is not for online‑only positions.

Position Title: Adjunct Instructor, Business & Management

Los Medanos College is accepting applications for the Business Department adjunct teaching pool. Adjunct teaching assignments may be temporary, part‑time and/or on‑call. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of business experience and 5 years of management experience in a business with 25+ employees that is not a sole proprietorship. Applicants must also have prior experience facilitating various business‑topic trainings and development for a diverse adult population.

Duties and Responsibilities

Providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines, and class schedules.

Creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking.

Evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grading student work.

Meeting with students outside of class.

Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.

Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas.

Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.

Maintaining accurate academic records.

Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing or business education OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR equivalent.

Master’s in business administration, business management, business education, marketing, public administration, or finance OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in economics, accountancy, taxation or law OR equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years business experience.

Minimum of 5 years management experience in a business with 25+ employees.

Prior experience facilitating business‑topic trainings for a diverse adult population.
