Orthotic Fitter – Embedded in Orthopedic Practice (Medical Device Company Representative)
Location: Frederick, Maryland

Role Overview
As our Orthotic Fitter, you will join a dynamic and growing organization committed to delivering superior orthotic solutions with the patient’s best interest at the center of care. This role focuses on hands‑on patient care and patient education, while supporting long‑term relationships with physicians and patients. Embedded within a busy orthopedic practice, you will play a key role in improving patient outcomes while representing a trusted organization.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients to determine appropriate durable medical equipment and orthotic needs
Perform fittings and minor modifications to orthotic devices to ensure optimal fit, function, and comfort
Educate patients and caregivers on proper use, care, and maintenance of orthotic devices
Conduct follow‑ups and resolve fit or comfort concerns to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction
Document detailed clinical notes in patient records and verify insurance and billing information
Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians and all members of the interdisciplinary care team
Review weekly deliveries with the Patient Care Coordinator and Billing Manager to ensure accurate billing and accounting
Manage device inventory, including ordering and replenishment
Collaborate with leadership to develop monthly, quarterly, and annual action plans and growth initiatives
Success Factors
Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least 1 year of experience fitting durable medical equipment in a clinic setting
Certified Orthotic Fitter (ABC or BOC)
Independent, self‑starter who performs well with minimal supervision
Organized, detail‑oriented, and skilled in time management and follow‑through
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics related to orthotic fitting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
Effective decision‑making, problem‑solving, and creative thinking abilities
Passion for delivering excellent patient care and building long‑term clinical relationships
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Recommended range – $60,000+ annually, based on experience and certification
