The Constituency Experiences team plays a vital role in advancing the University of Idaho Foundation’s mission to inspire, steward and celebrate philanthropic investment in the university. Through meaningful engagement, thoughtful donor recognition and signature experiences that connect alumni and friends to the impact of their generosity, the team strengthens lifelong relationships between the university and its supporters. The Digital Communications Strategist reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications on the Constituency Experiences team within the University of Idaho Foundation.
Overview
The position oversees the integrated digital communication strategy for the University of Idaho Foundation. This role advances the reputation of the UI Foundation, University of Idaho, and its units through purposeful and creative storytelling that advances strategic goals and strengthens engagement with a variety of constituencies, building understanding and inspiring support for the mission of the University of Idaho. Under the direction of the Senior Director of UI Foundation Marketing and Communications, they will serve as the unit’s liaison for leveraging and activating strategies in partnership with University Communications & Marketing (UCM).
Duties
Advancing U of I’s and UI Foundation’s reputation through execution of marketing strategies that drive purposeful messaging and engagement in support of strategic goals, priorities and initiatives
Providing marketing and communications leadership in a variety of unit priorities
Leveraging UCM initiatives and contributing to broader content strategies, including vision articulation, donor and alumni communication, and internal communications
Editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials
Handling a variety of projects simultaneously that require a high degree of attention to details
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations; four additional years of experience (for a total of six years) may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree
Required Other
Ability to work non-standard business hours which may include evenings, weekends and holidays on occasion to meet business needs
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles
Ability to travel

Developing, executing and measuring impact of marketing and communications plans and initiatives to achieve organizational goals
Developing and disseminating crisis communications
Hootsuite Platform content planning and posting
Marketing analytics and reporting tools
Setting and tracking KPIs
Working with foundation
on-profit, development and/or other fundraising professionals
Working in higher education
Overseeing communications/marketing projects including budgets, task delegation, deadlines and measuring outcomes
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to work in inclement weather for outside events
Salary
$67,000 or higher commensurate with experience
