Part‑Time Health Unit Coordinator
Location:
UNC Health – Holly Springs
Schedule:
Part‑time | Thursday, Friday & Saturday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (some flexibility within dayshift hours)

UNC Holly Springs is a small, community‑centered hospital dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence‑based care for growing families. Our facility includes:
7 Labor & Delivery rooms
5 OB Emergency Department rooms
2 Operating Rooms
2 PACU bays
Each labor room is equipped with Nitrous Oxide and a laboring tub to offer a range of pain‑management options for our patients. We care for patients delivering at
35 weeks gestation and beyond , and our OBED evaluates pregnancy‑related concerns for patients
16 weeks gestation through 6 weeks postpartum.
Position Summary
The Health Unit Coordinator provides essential clerical and administrative support to the nursing staff within an inpatient medical unit. This role helps ensure smooth daily operations and efficient patient flow. Work is performed in accordance with UNC Health policies and procedures under the supervision of the Nurse Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the communication hub for the unit, answering phones and coordinating messages
Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
Maintain and update patient records and unit logs
Support nursing staff with clerical needs
Coordinate information with other hospital departments
Help maintain a welcoming and organized unit environment
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous unit coordinator, administrative, or healthcare support experience preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, patient‑centered environment
Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus

Education Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience preferred.
