The dual campus Invasive Radiology Supervisor will work at both the Whittier and Downey Campus. Generally the time will be split between the two campuses.
The Supervisor oversees the technologists day‑to‑day operations, including assigning staff to procedures, ensuring all equipment is functional, checking that safety equipment is used, coordinating technologist lunch and break times, developing and disseminating the work schedule and on‑call schedules for both campuses. The Supervisor assists the Manager and Director in hiring and training new staff, may assist with procedures within the scope of practice, provide on‑call coverage, perform annual performance evaluations, review and update procedure manuals and protocols, coordinate staff education with educators and REPs, ensure initial and annual competencies, oversee daily quality controls and equipment testing, order necessary supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels, and participate in quality improvement projects. The ability to self‑direct and organize a varied workload is required.
Required Skills
Expert technical/scrubbing skills in general diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures
Supervise or provide direct scrub and technical expertise training for new staff
Advanced knowledge of all vasculature and organ systems
Advanced knowledge and familiarity of all interventional radiology procedures
Expertly skilled in the use of contrast agents, stents, PTA catheters, wires, guide catheter sheaths, thrombectomy, atherectomy, thrombolysis interventional equipment
Basic patient care and assessment techniques
Knowledgeable of radiation safety, radiation protection safety equipment use, and medical terminology
High degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques
Required Experience
Required:
Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association
Three (3) years’ experience in a hospital setting performing diagnostic and interventional procedures
Preferred:
VI Certification
ARRT in Vascular‑Interventional Radiography
CA Fluoroscopy License
