MRI Technologist
Department: H3184: MRI | Location: Lexington, KY | Grade: 10 | Type: Staff, Full‑Time | Salary Range: $30.48‑39.10/hour (minimum $30.10/hour). | Shift: Mid Shift, 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM; four 10‑hour shifts per week; days may vary.
Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist will perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures in accordance with ARRT standards and department policies. The role requires a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, a Kentucky Radiation Operator Certificate, and registration with ARRT. MRI registration must be obtained within one year of hire, and the candidate must hold BLS/CPR certification by start date. Responsibilities include patient care, positioning, operating MRI equipment safely, and maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Starting Pay:
Minimum hourly rate of $30.10/hour, based on experience.
Sign‑On Bonus:
$10,000 for new graduates ( Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
MRI equipment operation and safety
Employee Health Record (EHR) knowledge, including RIS/PACS
Required Education and Certification
Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology
ARRT certification at hire
BLS certification within 90 days of hire
MRI registration through ARRT within one year of hire
Preferred Education and Experience
Current MRI registration through ARRT
CPR/BLS certification
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular lifting, pushing, pulling of objects up to or over 50 pounds; repetitive motions; standing or walking with objects up to 25 pounds; and sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods. Occasional work at heights above four feet, confined spaces, exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals, waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood‑borne or airborne pathogens, and violent individuals may occur.
