Registered Nurse - Bed Management - 24 Hours - Afternoons
Within the System Capacity Command Center (SC3) at Henry Ford Health, the Transfer Management Nurses use Henry Ford Health clinical knowledge and standard operating procedures to facilitate transfers into, out of and between all the hospitals in the Henry Ford Health system. Works in fast paced environment connecting providers, sending and receiving care teams, medical transportation, and financial clearance to lead the process to efficiently and safely move patients between facilities to the right location and appropriate level of care so patients can continue their care progress.
BED MANAGER
utilizes prioritization lists for optimum patient throughput for patient transfers and for any patient requiring movement through the acute patient care setting. Bed Managers assign beds for all hospital locations. We aim to maximize efficiency with system throughput and put our patients first, every time by consistently monitoring work queues and prioritizing patient throughput.
Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotations, 6 weeks of in‑person training at our command center in Detroit. Must be able to work on site when needed.
Education / Experience Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Two (2) years of RN clinical experience required.
Experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate clinical information and interact effectively with physicians and staff to achieve quality outcomes required.
Demonstrated ability to work in high‑stress, high‑acuity setting, adaptable to rapidly changing work environment and to direct and control multiple critical communication events simultaneously required.
Certifications / Licenses Required
Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
