Position Overview
As a Dairy and Frozen Foods Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the dairy and frozen foods department within a grocery store. Your focus will be on ensuring the quality and freshness of products while delivering excellent customer service. You will also drive labor efficiency, sales, and gross profit margins in alignment with store goals.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain customer satisfaction with the product and services offered by the company.
Maintain a clean, happy, fresh, and organized department.
Keep the sales floor, preparation, equipment, and storage areas clean, orderly, and compliant with company and health department standards at all times.
Train and supervise dairy and frozen foods department staff, ensuring adherence to established procedures and customer service standards.
Conduct regular safety training for dairy and frozen foods department staff.
Provide ongoing feedback, performance evaluations, and training opportunities for all dairy and frozen foods employees.
Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain a diverse and stocked selection of products.
Ensure that all products meet quality and safety standards.
Ensure proper rotation of products using a first‑in, first‑out method.
Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally.
Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the dairy and frozen food work areas.
Communicate with store management regarding inventory, sales, and any issues within the department.
Implement and execute best practices to minimize profit losses and maximize overall store profit.
Coach teammates in need of performance improvement within the dairy and frozen foods department.
Adhere to all company safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Ability to work in varying temperature‑controlled environments.
Schedule
Weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Pay
$22.00-$24.00/hr
Experience
Preferred: One (1) year of dairy management or dairy sales experience.
Skills
Physical abilities : May be required to lift up to 80‑85 lbs.; standing, bending, lifting, and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to overhead; ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature‑controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, and carpet.
Strong communication skills : Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis.
Organizational skills : Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Team‑based environment : Working independently and as a team player to ensure customers receive orders timely and with the highest quality.
Quality focus : Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives.
