Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Patient Service Representative, you will provide direct support to physicians and patients in assigned primary and/or specialty care. Major duties include:
Acting as a liaison for patients and physicians in the practice.
Assisting patients in accessing services within the health system.
Facilitating communication with referring physicians.
Referring patients to appropriate resources and providing follow-up through telephone and EPIC/Care Connect.
Job Qualifications

Required:
Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with faculty, staff, administration, and patients from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.
Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.
Diplomatic and sympathetic interaction with a patient population of varying health conditions.
Ability to provide coverage for community clinics as assigned.
Preferred:
Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows (rheumatology, endocrinology, pulmonary & sleep medicine, cardiology).
Familiarity with authorization processes and managed care programs.
Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and coverage types.
Working knowledge of patient-related policies and procedures and the university system services.
Skill using a PC with Word, Excel, and email.
Knowledge of hospital computer systems and related software products.
Other Conditions

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose any administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years that determined misconduct or any appeal of a substantiated misconduct finding with a previous employer.
