On any given day, you’ll:

Perform construction observation of transportation/WisDOT infrastructure projects.

Perform quantity measurements and computations, record keeping, contractor pay estimate preparation and review of contractor progress; materials testing; field staking and general inspection for transportation road and utility projects.

Interpret construction drawings and specifications and take appropriate action to ensure the project is constructed in conformance with the requirements of the project construction contract.

Maintain client relations while in the field.

Prepare reports, review design standards and code requirements, and conduct field investigation of design problems.

Required qualifications:

Previous infrastructure construction observation experience, including storm sewer, structures, and roadways.

Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Ability to walk over uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.

Desired skills and experiences:

Previous WisDOT transportation construction observation experience.

Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.

Experience in excel and word.

Staking/survey experience.Strong written/verbal communications skills and the ability to operate independently.
