SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), cost accounting and advanced excel skills, to join our organization. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for processing and reconciling all financial and accounting activities, ensuring financial integrity, accuracy, and compliance. This role requires expertise in cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of GAAP. We are seeking a “forward thinker” looking for an opportunity to grow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Account Reconciliation: Performing detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Journal Entries: Preparing and posting complex journal entries.
Month-End Close: Leading the month-end closing process, including preparing adjusting entries and reviewing financial data.
Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial trends and performance metrics to provide insights to management.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
Internal Controls: Assessing and maintaining internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
Audit Support: Preparing documentation and assisting external auditors with audit procedures.
Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Sales Tax Reconciliation
Prepare Monthly Sales Commissions
Team Management: May supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance (GAAP).
Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
