Plumber
This is a full‑time position working 40 hours a week (4/10’s). There is no per diem and no relocation funding.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct corrective maintenance to resolve issues and perform preventive maintenance inspections.
Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipe, and opening clogged drains.
Study building plans and working drawings to determine the work required and sequence of installations.
Locate and mark the position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using a ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.
Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings, using hand tools and power tools.
Cut and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe‑threading machine.
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, as well as non‑metals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools.
Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks.
Fill pipe system with water or air to read pressure gauges to determine whether the system is leaking.
Read blueprints to determine size, position, and amount of material required.
Install pipe in walls, ceilings, and floors.
Perform work while wearing personal protective equipment, including rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air, air‑purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire‑resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
Regularly require full range of mobility in upper and lower body, ability to reach overhead, work in various positions, and climb stairs or work at heights.
Assist with other facility maintenance as required.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in an industrial setting (preferred).
Ability to use PPE as described.
Ability to perform the physical tasks described.
Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Must pass a pre‑employment physical, drug screening and background check.
