Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
Teach Master of Nursing (ELMSN) program content in didactic and clinical settings, advise students, participate in simulation, curriculum development, interprofessional education, oversee clinical adjuncts and student placement in clinical agencies, manage required clinical documentation, orient part‑time faculty, conduct student and faculty evaluations, assist with accreditation preparation, and attend program, curriculum, and other campus committee meetings. Other duties may include contacting clinical agencies, orienting and evaluating part‑time faculty, interviewing prospective students. Effective teaching, collaboration, research, creative activity, and service to the University are required for retention and promotion.

Minimum Qualifications

MSN in Nursing or related field.

A current active California RN license that is unencumbered.

At least 2 years of recent nurse experience in a content specialty within the last five years.

Eligibility for approval as a BRN‑approved faculty member by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Terminal degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP, or EdD) or ABD candidate expected to complete dissertation within two years of appointment.

Minimum two years instructional experience in an academic setting.

Knowledge and skills related to adult/birth‑society teaching, methodology, curriculum development, and evaluation, or willingness to acquire them within the first year of teaching.

BRN approval as a content expert.

Experience using Canvas or other LMS.

Expertise in simulation or other innovative teaching modalities.

Health qualifications required to teach students in a clinical setting.

Demonstrated commitment to teaching diverse students and creating culturally responsive practices.

Experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in higher‑education settings.

Physical Requirements
In‑person role; successful candidate must be willing to relocate within California, preferably within 25 miles of Sacramento Pacific campus. The physical demands described are typical for this position; reasonable accommodations can be made.

Hiring Range
$120,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year. Pay may vary with scope, qualifications, internal equity, and market factors.
