Job Overview

Responsibilities
Manage and develop a professional team, allocating resources for projects, compliance, and customer needs.
Represent Vulcan on environmental matters, building relationships with agencies, participating in trade associations, and collaborating with government and community relations groups.
Lead the environmental program, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Partner with division leadership, operations, and sales to support local plants, educate personnel on compliance, and develop environmental solutions.
Conduct inspections and audits to assess regulatory compliance and manage environmental risks.
Support business growth by evaluating new lines of business, acquisitions, and managing environmental due diligence activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, or a related technical field; advanced degree in environmental studies preferred.
Experience: Extensive hands‑on experience in the environmental field and in coaching personnel.
Regulatory Knowledge: Expertise in federal and state environmental regulations (RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA, etc.) and ability to assess their applicability.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to interact with all levels of staff.
Technology Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Oracle Business Environment, and other relevant software.
