Summary of Job Duties
The Anesthesia Technician is a non‑professional who, under the supervision of the Lead Anesthesia Technician, is responsible for certain aspects of patient care in the operating room. The technician practices within the limits of hospital policies and procedures, adheres to department and unit standards, and understands the legal consequences of his/her interventions.
Qualifications
HS/GED plus 1 year patient care experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
Ability to accept and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to communicate following Guest Care guidelines
Responsibilities
Cleans anesthesia machines, ventilators, and other equipment
Performs chemical analysis of blood for blood sugar and electrolytes
Stocks anesthesia workroom
Calculates, charts, and interprets results of blood analysis
Assists in the orientation of new personnel
Other duties, as assigned

Commensurate with education and experience
