
PRN CT Technologist - El Paso, TX

Overview
Texas Oncology is seeking a PRN CT Technologist to support the El Paso Gateway clinic. The role will be assigned Level 1, 2, or Sr depending on experience.
Responsibilities
Performs CT procedures as ordered achieving a high level of quality.
Offers expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional or modified studies.
Escorts patients to the treatment room, assists with dressings as necessary, and completes all paperwork to ensure timely delivery of CT services.
Develops and processes radiologic films, logs procedures completed, and processes routine paperwork.
Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Ensures the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologist’s care.
Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance, and reports malfunctions and required adjustments to the appropriate company or facility.
Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by the vendor and follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
Orders, logs, and returns outside films requested from other agencies and completes appropriate documentation.
Arranges for the release of films to patients and outside agencies.
Maintains paperwork for tracking loaned films and preserves confidentiality of all patient and staff information.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
Level 1:
Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school; minimum three years experience as a CT Technologist; certified registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required; current IV and CPR certifications required; CT certification preferred.
Level 2 (in addition to Level 1):
Minimum five years experience as a CT Technologist.
Level Sr (in addition to Levels 1 and 2):
Minimum seven years experience as a CT Technologist.
Physical Demands
The physical demands include lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds; lifting and pushing patients up to 300 pounds; reaching above shoulder height; prolonged standing and sitting; corrected vision and hearing; and full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye–hand coordination for equipment operation and repair.
Work Environment
Work involves direct contact with patients potentially exposed to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other clinic environment hazards.
