Adjunct Psychology Instructor – Danville Correctional Center
The faculty member will provide instruction in the appropriate field and assist students through email, phone, or office hours. Faculty will maintain attendance and grade records, comply with college verification deadlines, and support accreditation, curriculum development, syllabi, assessment processes, and instructional materials to maximize student learning.

Responsibilities
The instructor is responsible for:

Delivering instruction and developing daily lesson plans.

Recommending budgetary revisions, teaching materials, curriculum revisions, textbooks, equipment, and supplies to the Dean.

Keeping abreast of the latest theories of learning through university training, in-service education, staff meetings, conferences, and approved conventions.

Utilizing library resources in teaching assignments.

Implementing diverse teaching techniques to foster mental, social, and physical growth of students.

Developing and implementing evaluation and assessment techniques appropriate and timely for each class.

Communicating effectively with students, colleagues, and deans.

Promoting the College in campus activities and community events.

Participating in planning and implementing program and course level assessments, ICCB/IAI program reviews, and accreditation activities.

Maintaining current syllabus, course outline, and credit hour forms using college templates.

Maintaining a LMS shell for communications with students each semester.

Assuming other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field with 18 graduate-level hours in psychology.

Experience teaching at the college level, preferably in a community college setting.

In-depth knowledge of the subject matter to be taught.

Commitment to excellence in teaching.

Experience working with diverse populations.

Desired Qualifications

Ph.D. in psychology or a related field with 18 graduate-level hours in psychology.

Documented student success, recruitment, and retention.

Collaboration in college and community settings, including committees and institution‑building activities.

Experience supporting first-generation and non‑traditional students.

Compensation
$730.00 per credit hour.
