Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is seeking a skilled and student-centered Physical Therapist to support students across our region. This professional position offers the opportunity to apply clinical expertise in educational settings, helping students improve mobility, strength, balance, posture, and physical access to learning environments. About the Role
The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and providing physical therapy services in accordance with a written prescription or referral from a physician who provides medical direction. Services are delivered in school-based settings and are designed to support student access, participation, and safety. The Physical Therapist is responsible to the facility administrator for the operation of the physical therapy department. While direct supervision is not a major function of this title, the role includes oversight and instruction of Physical Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapy Aides, and clerical employees assigned to the service. Other related duties are performed as required.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assessments
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on medical referrals
Provide direct physical therapy services to students
Address mobility, strength, balance, posture, and functional movement needs
Maintain required documentation, treatment notes, and progress reports
Collaborate with school teams, families, and related service providers
Provide oversight and instruction to assigned support staff
Perform related work as required

New York State licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist
Strong evaluation, clinical decision-making, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
Commitment to supporting students within educational environments
Clear communication and collaborative skills
Must have NYS Physical Therapist license and have no lifting restrictions
This is a competitive position. Must meet the requirements of the Ontario County Civil Service.
