We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer positioned at RTX (Raytheon Technologies) in Richardson, TX. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux infrastructure for both on-premise and emerging DevSecOps environments.
Location
Richardson, TX – in a Secure Compartmented Integration Facility (SCIF). 10% or less travel may be required.
What You Will Do
Leverage industry best practices to develop and communicate implementation of infrastructure solutions.
Maintain existing systems through Linux‑based tools and manage the COTS stack to support program needs.
Utilize scripting and automation tools to build and maintain program infrastructure.
Ensure consistent COTS stack and versioning across the platform and coordinate updates with the team.
Responsibilities
Design and implement system updates and upgrades focusing on Linux server and OS expertise.
Support Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) and provide project status updates.
Develop and deploy traditional compute, network, and storage systems.
Improve platform design through new emerging technologies and automation tools.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related STEM field and a minimum of five years of related work experience.
Hands‑on experience with Linux operating systems.
Scripting skills: Bash, Python, Java, Perl, Ruby, Tcl/Tk.
Experience with automation tools: Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Bitbucket.
Current TS/SCI issued security clearance is required day one; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, Helm, or Rancher.
Experience with LDAP and IT service‑management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence).
Familiarity with Agile project management and Scrum methodology.
Background in systems operations or engineering supporting large complex IT environments.
Proficiency with MS Office, software deployment, markup languages (YML, XML, JSON).
Current Polygraph clearance is strongly desired for privileged user access.
Security Clearance Requirements
Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (TS/SCI without polygraph) is required prior to start date. Only U.S. citizens are eligible.
