Job Summary
The Architectural Manager (Level 2) will be involved in all phases of an MTA C&D project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reports.
Job Details
Work Location: 2 Broadway
Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (7.5 hr/day)
Salary Range: $117,510 to $146,888
Responsibilities
Designs/supervises various aspects of a project for MTA C&D.
Performs technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing historic data, surveys, reports, and as-builts to create innovative architectural design projects.
Reviews designs, tests, and assesses materials and performs/reviews calculations.
Conducts site visits to obtain existing conditions and correctly identify design and construction risks.
Plans and coordinates required permitting and approval documentation that supports their designs.
Manages a small team of design architects.
Embraces mentoring from senior staff.
Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline.
Coordinates with other in‑house engineering disciplines as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Architecture degree.
Minimum of eight (8) years related experience, including at least four (4) years in a management role of a project manager in a large, multi‑faced organization.
A registered NYS licensed architect (RA) is required.
Experience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with Agency Owner and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information.
Knowledge of applicable industry and NYS building and design codes and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Excellent team‑building, listening, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
Proficiency in current design software and Microsoft Office are required.
Experience interpreting reports and analysis.
Attitude and commitment to actively participating in employee culture.
Able to multitask and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.
Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.
