Summary
Senior Batch Developer responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining batch processes on UNIX/Linux systems using C, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL, primarily within healthcare IT environments.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test batch services and automation tasks.
Support full lifecycle development for services across multiple platforms.
Investigate and resolve complex integration issues affecting business and technical processes.
Focus on a specific product or technology family across platforms.
Work independently within a business area and influence enterprise-level technical decisions during project phases.
Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs:
C on Unix and Linux
Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL
Healthcare claims systems – batch job automation and notification services
Complex SQL development and query tuning
Assist in modifying company or customer systems to meet client needs.
Gather information from the system, analyze program and time requirements, and prepare documentation for changes.
Research and analyze existing systems and program requirements under periodic supervision.
Design programs for projects or enhancements.
Write specifications for low to moderate complexity programs.
Assist in resolving production support problems.
Develop alternative approaches to resolve issues.
Create test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs; identify issues as appropriate.
Create documentation for work assignments such as program code and technical documentation.
Conduct quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
Qualifications
6+ years of application development and batch programming with C, Unix, Linux, and Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL).
Experience with healthcare IT systems (claims and/or Medicaid Management Information System). Highly desired.
Expertise in batch job automation and notification services.
Expertise in complex SQL development and query tuning.
Expectations
Fully remote opportunity; work from anywhere in the United States.
Occasional travel (0-10% of time).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel.
Video cameras are required during all interviews and the initial week of orientation.
Salary & Benefits
Pay range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on geographic region, equity, and experience.
