Engelberth Construction is seeking an Estimator to support commercial construction projects throughout Vermont and New Hampshire.
The role of an Estimator is responsible for determining the projected costs of a construction project before work begins. Their primary role is to analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates that guide budgeting and bidding decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Developing estimates at all phases of design, including coordinating the efforts of other internal team members performing site, mechanical and electrical estimates and reporting to executive management.
Coordinating the subcontractor bidding process.
Assisting the preconstruction manager with information to support clients and project needs.
Assisting the Chief Estimator with maintaining the estimating database.
Supporting business development efforts with RFP responses and attending project interviews.
Performing architectural systems and material takeoff and developing cost estimate reports using Timberline/Sage estimating software.
Coordinating with material vendors and subcontractors for market pricing.
Understanding the subcontractor market conditions and developing subcontractor bid lists.
Developing subcontractor bid packages itemizing specific trade work scopes.
Skills – Education – Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (completed or in progress) in:
Construction Management
Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Structural)
Architecture
Business Administration
Or related field
A minimum of 3 years of estimating background with experience leading a team of estimators in cost, scheduling, design review, bidding strategies, and risk management efforts.
Overall, the role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, knowledge of construction methods, and the ability to interpret technical documents accurately.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, digital take-off and estimating software
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range : $85,000 - $125,000 annually. This position is eligible for additional compensation through Engelberth Construction’s bonus programs and comprehensive benefits package. In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, Engelberth Construction does not discriminate in compensation based on protected characteristics and is committed to fair and equitable pay practices.
