Leidos is seeking an
Associate Distribution Engineer
to work in either our Framingham, MA office or the New Hampshire area.

Interactions with other disciplines (Substation, Protection & Controls, and Civil Structural)
This position requires the selected candidate to work approximately 6 months as a temporary contractor with the possibility of converting to a direct Leidos employee at the completion of that timeframe.
Responsibilities
Develop construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards (Bentley Open Utilities Design, CAD tools, GIS, WMS, client systems) for overhead (OH), underground (UG), or underground remote distribution (URD) environments.
Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop, flicker, and coordination of protective devices.
Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permits and right‑of‑way acquisition, develop bill of materials, estimate costs and advocate for customers such as acquiring easements.
Travel by motor vehicle to project locations to conduct field investigations as required.
Include new business and reliability design work as part of project duties.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field.
Six (6+) months of prior relevant experience directly with an electric utility or with a consulting/contracting company performing design engineering for electric utilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to perform both field and office work.
Pay Range
USD $50,700.00 – $91,650.00 per year.
