We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Specifications Writer to support our Technical Design team in a full-time, in office. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent judgment, and a commitment to producing clear, accurate, and well-coordinated construction specifications across a broad range of project types.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with architects, and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials, assemblies, and systems
Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content
Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction
Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses
Conduct product research, analysis, and comparative evaluations
Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed
Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications
Serve as a technical mentor and resource for design staff
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
8+ years as a specifications writer
Experience in one or more of the following project sectors strongly preferred: commercial, healthcare, aviation, education, data centers, or residential architecture
Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial
Professional licensure or credential (Registered Architect, CSI CCS, or CSI CCCA) - preferred
