About the Opportunity
Adeptus Solutions, Inc. is hiring a
Senior Cyber Security Operations Engineer (Level 3)
to support a federal client in Washington, DC. This is a hands-on role supporting a hybrid environment (on-premises + Microsoft Azure), focused on threat detection, incident response, and security engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and operate security tools (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, firewalls, cloud security)
Monitor and analyze security alerts across enterprise environments
Lead incident response and threat investigations
Develop and automate detection and response processes
Perform threat hunting, continuous monitoring, and security assessments
Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and CISA standards
Collaborate with IT/security teams to improve overall security posture
Maintain documentation, playbooks, and operational metrics
Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or security engineering
Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and federal cybersecurity standards
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure security and Microsoft 365 Defender
Experience with SIEM, EDR, and network security tools
Ability to work independently in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: CISSP, Security+, GCIA, GCIH, or similar
Scripting experience (PowerShell or similar)
Experience in federal or highly regulated environments
Experience supporting gaming or electronic betting environments
