We invite an outstanding candidate with a strong background in zoonotic and vector-borne disease to join our CDC-funded project team to strengthen partnerships with public health in the Ohio River Valley and develop predictive models and hazard maps that inform public health decision-making. Key Responsibilities:* Lead and support a regional needs assessment to evaluate and strengthen collaboration between public health and Extension partners, including survey development, data analysis, and dissemination of findings.* Plan and implement partner engagement activities (e.g., symposium, listening sessions, ongoing communication) and contribute to development of training, outreach, and resource-sharing efforts based on identified needs.* Develop and disseminate products (e.g., manuscripts, reports, or guides) that advance collaboration and knowledge sharing in vector-borne disease systems.* Conduct research on tick distribution and tick-borne disease risk using climate-informed predictive modeling and geospatial analyses, producing hazard maps and decision-support tools to support surveillance and public health planning.* Attends weekly laboratory meetings, relevant seminars, and occasional VectorEd team meetings* Participates in reporting for agencies supporting this study, and preparation of new grant applications for additional extramural fundingThe candidate will also be able to network with the broader regional team of the VectorEd Network and its technical experts at the CDC since this project is supported by a Cooperative Agreement from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. A competitive salary and benefits will be offered commensurate with experience.
