Breast Imaging Radiologist – Locum Tenens
Role Summary
Step into a high-impact clinical role at a prestigious Cancer Center and Hospital in a vibrant Central Illinois college town. We are seeking a mission-driven Breast Imaging Radiologist to provide essential coverage on an ongoing basis. This position offers a sophisticated practice environment where you will perform advanced procedures—including ultrasound, mammography, and MRI-guided biopsies—supported by a robust team of technologists, RNs, and MOAs. Utilizing an elite tech stack (EPIC, Radiant, Powerscribe), you will deliver critical diagnostic care to a primarily adult and geriatric population in a setting that values precision and patient-centered excellence.
Key Duties:
Diagnostic Imaging:
Interpret mammography (including tomosynthesis) and breast ultrasound images with high accuracy.
Interventional Procedures:
Perform ultrasound-guided biopsies, mammography/tomosynthesis-guided biopsies, and MRI-guided biopsies.
Surgical Coordination:
Execute localizations for surgery to assist the surgical oncology team.
Clinical Collaboration:
Work alongside a full support staff of RNs and technologists to ensure a seamless patient experience within the cancer center.
Documentation:
Maintain meticulous records using EPIC/Radiant and Powerscribe; charting is expected to be integrated into daily professional hours.
Required Qualifications
Education:
MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
Already Active Illinois state medical license
is required.
Certification:
Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology.
Regulatory:
MQSA Certification
is mandatory.
Experience:
Proficiency in the specific breast procedures listed above.
Desired Qualifications
Training:
Fellowship training in Breast Imaging is highly preferred.
Credentialing Profile:
"Clean and easy-to-credential" status with minimal malpractice history and no active/pending cases.
Technical Savvy:
High proficiency with EPIC, Radiant, Clario, and Powerscribe systems.

Cancer Center / Hospital (Carle Foundation Hospital)
Work Type:
Locum Tenens (Ongoing until permanent staff are secured)
Schedule:
Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
