Postdoctoral Associate: Nutrient Best Management Practices

Job Title: Post‑Doc Associate (Nutrient Management), Department of Soil, Water, and Ecosystem Sciences (SWES), UF IFAS.
Location: Main Campus, Gainesville, FL.
Primary Responsibilities

Lead precision nitrogen application demonstration and research project in the Suwannee Valley.
Visit farm sites routinely to collect soil and tissue samples, supervise field activities, and attend logistical meetings.
Coordinate with UF/IFAS extension faculty, Regional Specialized Agents, and partner researchers.
Prepare and submit written reports—quarterly reports to FDACS, EDIS documents, and publish peer‑reviewed articles.
Travel to sites and stakeholder meetings; present findings at meetings; conduct field work in hot, humid conditions.
Required Qualifications

PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Agronomy, Soil Science, Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Nutrient Management, Water Quality, or a related field.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership in interdisciplinary teams.
Experience working with stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Published work in extension and/or peer‑reviewed literature.
Supportive of the mission of the Land‑Grant system.
Working Conditions

Field work may involve travel to and on multiple farm sites within North Florida.
Work includes driving, meeting agricultural stakeholders, and performing field measurements under hot, humid weather.
