Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Certified Dietary Manager and Food Services Director to lead our dietary operations with enthusiasm and expertise. In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of food service within an assisted living environment, ensuring that residents receive nutritious, appealing meals tailored to their individual care plans. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care plans that incorporate specialized dietary needs such as tube feeding and diagnostic evaluation requirements.
Supervise daily food service operations, including meal preparation, presentation, and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations.
Manage the dietary department’s staffing schedules, training programs, and performance evaluations to ensure a motivated and competent team.
Conduct patient assessments to determine individualized nutritional needs, adjusting menus and care strategies accordingly.
Oversee budgeting processes for the dietary department, ensuring cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality or nutrition standards.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate nutrition interventions, including health coaching and physiologically appropriate diet modifications.
Maintain accurate documentation of care plans, food safety protocols, inventory records, and compliance reports to meet regulatory standards.
Requirements
Current certification as a Dietary Manager or equivalent credential from a recognized certifying body.
Proven management experience within dietary departments or healthcare food services, preferably in assisted living or long-term care settings.
Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, and dietetics principles relevant to diverse resident populations.
Experience supervising staff and managing team dynamics effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with resident assessment procedures and care planning related to nutritional needs such as tube feeding or specialized diets.
Ability to develop budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation while maintaining high-quality service standards.
