RN - Inpatient Behavioral Health

Overview
The Inpatient Behavioral Health RN is responsible for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, psychiatric disorders, and/or substance use issues in an inpatient hospital setting. This role involves comprehensive assessment, therapeutic intervention, crisis management, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Schedule : 7pm-7:30am
Responsibilities
Conduct initial and ongoing psychiatric and medical assessments of patients.
Monitor and evaluate patient progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment.
Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
Provide emotional support, patient education, and de-escalation during crisis situations.
Lead or support therapeutic group activities and educational sessions.
Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive environment by enforcing unit rules and safety protocols.
Accurately document patient care, behaviors, and interventions in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Participate in treatment planning, discharge planning, and family education as needed.
Maintain knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral health interventions, and evidence-based practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
BLS/CPR certification required; additional certifications (e.g., CPI, ACLS) preferred.
Previous experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or related nursing field preferred.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and crisis intervention skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with a diverse patient population.
Type : full-time contract employment 13-14 weeks with possibility to extend
