Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable
Welding Shift Lead
to oversee daily production and support a team of welders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring quality standards are met, production goals are achieved, and safety procedures are followed.
The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on welding experience, leadership ability, and a commitment to maintaining a productive and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of welders during 2nd shift operations
Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production goals
Perform MIG welding and assist with complex fabrication as needed
Inspect finished welds to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
Troubleshoot welding issues and provide guidance to team members
Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to team members
Communicate effectively with management regarding production status and challenges
Qualifications
Previous experience in a welding or fabrication role required
Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong MIG welding skills (other welding methods a plus)
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Knowledge of welding safety standards and best practices
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively
