About the Role
We are looking for an employee who can audit patient accounts for discrepancies and determine proper reimbursement of overpayments, analyze and process refund requests from insurance providers, and follow up with staff. The role requires effective communication with insurance providers and internal staff regarding refund issues.

Responsibilities

Print, review, and work on overpaid claim and unallocated money reports

Process refund requests according to refund protocol

Reprocess returned refunds, including mail returns

Maintain proper organization and storage of refund checks and packets

Handle credit transfers and escheats

Work as a contributing member of a team to keep departments running smoothly

Participate in in‑service education, staff meetings, and other continuing education programs to maintain optimal technical knowledge

Adhere to department and company policies, maintaining confidentiality

Attend safety classes and compliance training offered by Physicians East, P.A.

Assist with other duties or projects as needed

Location & Commitments
Full‑time role based at our Greenville Arlington Blvd. location, Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Overtime may be required to ensure tasks are completed and calls are returned in a timely manner. Weekend work is rare but may occasionally be necessary.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of 1–3 years experience in insurance and billing settings and/or appropriate college education required
